A new report from the American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund concluded that as many as half of all cases of colorectal cancer could be prevented if everyone did these three things:
- Eat healthfully.
- Stay physically active.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
The key dietary steps are:
- Consume more whole grains and other high-fiber foods.
- Consume more dairy products (or calcium supplements).
- Limit or avoid red meat and processed meat.
- Limit or avoid alcohol.
