If you have low back pain, consider taking up yoga. A recent review in the Clinical Journal of Pain looked at 10 randomized trials involving 967 people with chronic low back pain and concluded that yoga can be effective for both short- and long-term pain management.

Though this review found that yoga resulted in no serious “adverse events,” it can cause injuries, so you should find an instructor who understands your needs and limitations, and you should proceed with caution.
