Calcium Concerns?

Don’t worry that the calcium you consume from food or supplements will build up in coronary arteries and cause atherosclerosis.

Such coronary calcification is a marker for increased coronary risk, and some researchers have claimed that calcium intake, especially from supplements, contributes to it.

But new research from the long-running Framingham Offspring Study has concluded that people who consume the most calcium from food and/or supplements, as much as 3,000 milligrams a day, do not have more coronary calcium.
