Belt Size & Urination Frequency

Men with large waists are more likely to urinate frequently than thinner men, according to a 2012 study published in the urology journal BJUI.

It’s well known that abdominal obesity increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and sexual dysfunction, but this study of 409 middle-aged and older men found that along with these go prostate enlargement and increased “lower urinary tract symptoms.” For instance, about 40 percent of men with waists larger than 39 inches urinated more than eight times a day, compared to 27 percent of those with waists 35 to 39 inches and 15 percent of those with waists less than 35 inches.
