Don't Skimp on Sunscreen

by Berkeley Wellness

Most Americans still don't use sunscreen regularly, despite decades of warnings about the risk of skin cancer, according to a CDC study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Only 30 percent of women and 14 percent of men surveyed reported that they regularly use sunscreen on both their face and other exposed skin. Women were more likely than men to use sunscreen on their faces, presumably because it helps prevent wrinkling and because many cosmetics contain sunscreen. More than 40 percent of men said they never use sunscreen, along with 27 percent of women.
